Who we are

HomeOS is a home maintenance app. Person responsible for the protection of personal information: contact@monhomeos.ca.

Information we collect

Your email and your password (stored in encrypted form, never in plain text).
Your property's address, type, use, year of construction and your answers to the questionnaire.
Your maintenance task history and the documents or photos you choose to add (invoices, warranties, manuals).
Your notification preferences and, if you allow it, a token to send notifications to your device.
If you request a quote: the type of work, your answers, your description, your photos and the property's city are sent to several verified professionals; your first name, phone number and the address of the work are shared only with the professionals who take your request.
Anonymous statistics on clicks to partner stores (store and item only, not linked to your account).
If you sign up for the beta on the website: your email.

Why

To generate your maintenance plan, send you your reminders, keep your history and ensure the service works and is secure. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Where it is stored

Data is hosted with providers located outside Québec, notably Amazon Web Services (United States) and MongoDB Atlas. Emails are sent through Resend and notifications through Expo's notification service. Address entry uses Google Places. Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google and by RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous account identifier and your subscription status; we never see your card number.

Your rights

You can view, export and delete your data directly in the app (Settings), or write to us at the address above. Deleting your account erases your personal data.

Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. When the account is deleted, it is erased, except for technical backups that expire after a short period.

Privacy incident

In the event of an incident presenting a serious risk of harm, we will inform you and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as required by law.

Changes

We will announce any important change to this policy in the app or by email.
